St. Louis’ First Tango Festival—A Huge Success

Drawing from the artistic talents of the teachers, dancers and DJs who participated in this First
St. Louis Tango Festival, our Tango community has finally put St. Louis in the Tango map as
one of many Tango hubs around the United States. Need we go to Buenos Aires?
Empanadas were made fresh using an authentic Argentine family recipe and it was to die for!!
This festival drew a crowd of over 100 individuals that it was not difficult to imagine that it could
have occured in one of the metropolitan tango cities in the world. The energy on the floor was
awesome, the dancers respected the music and the line of dance, most did not go home with
too much injuries, and all who participated in hosting out-of-town guests gained much not just
on friendships but connections for future Tango soirees. It was also nice to see friends who
have moved to other communities come back to tell stories and share experiences from other
places. All in all, it was a wonderful conglomeration of dancers sharing the love of the dance.
Words could not express the experience, and a picture is worth a thousand words. So listen
with your eyes, feel with your ears and come to St.  Louis…………… Missouri, that is.
Many THANKS to Shaun and Berrette for making this event a HUGE SUCCESS.
